Can't wait to try the Beta Version. I will put some lines here how Presto reacts with my HP Mini 2133.

So, here i am with my first report.

After getting Presto from Versiontracker (i didn't get any Download-Link from this site) and Installing the whole thing it was time to boot my computer.

Before Presto starts, i get 2 Errors.

[0x000000] cpu: vendor_id "CentaurHauls"unknown, using generic init,
[0x000000] cpu: your system may be unstable

Presto started anyway and it was really fast (even with the errors :)
And here we are but... where is my mouse cursor? No Idea. I could move around with the mouse and see the shadows of the buttons changing but the cursor was not there.
WIFI connection works perfectly.
// EDIT
Wireless Connection worked perfect at my place but not in the office
//
The display resolution was 640 x 480 and it was no way to change that ( One time the display starts making strange signs like in the Matrix Movie :)
Tomorrow i will see if the speakers and mic are working.

See you
c

My elonex also gets the same processor message.

Are you sure the resolution is 640x480 and not just larger than the supported resolution?

If you press ctrl+alt+T where does the terminal open? Normally it would open dead centre of the screen (I guess) but on my elonex it opens off the bottom right.

That makes me think that the resolution is like 1280x1024 or something meaning I'm only seeing the top left corner....

What should you see on a "full" screen? I've only got the left sidebar with 4 icons.

Cheers

Here i am again, a little bit disapointed.
James, thanks for your feedback. The Display resolution is really 640x480.
The Mini schould actually works on 1280x768.

I tried the Sound this morning and its woking very well.
I could not test the microphone because it was very, very disgusting trying the hole thing without the mouse cursor.

Now, I will report everything to Xandros.

I like the Presto Idea and i hope they can fix my Problems (Or maybe one of you guys...)

Cheers

Same here for my HP 2133.

Same error, no cursor, and res is messed up (windows open in bottom right).

Does anyone know if presto are going to address any of these issues before the beta ends in april?

Hi hutchins79,
could you see if the microphone is working?
What a about my errors at the start?
[0x000000] cpu: vendor_id "CentaurHauls"unknown, using generic init,
[0x000000] cpu: your system may be unstable

Ok... Trying to fix my problems was not very easy and even googling around on the hp 2133 linux community i couldn't find any useful answer for my Presto problems.
Presto is just not ready for the Via CPU and the Via Graphics. This seems to be a good old problem between Linux and Notebooks with this kind of Chipset. ( I'm also not the only one in this Forum :)
The only distribution that i found that handle with this "out of the box" was SimplyMEPIS but i like the Presto "install" idea.

If you are a linux newcomer like me, hold on and wait a little bit for the final release. Maybe they will fix it and we can use these great product.

Cheers
